Hi, I’m Joe La Com a designer based in Chattanooga, TN. In addition to working full-time as a graphic design professor, dad, and part-time football enthusiast, I enjoy freelancing on a variety of print and digital projects.
My work is rooted in a passion for communication design and a fascination with the power it has to inform, persuade, and surprise. I thrive on the process of research, play and iteration necessary to solve and develop creative solutions to complex problems. Though originally trained as a print designer, I was always excited and curious about web and interactive design. I used any work and educational opportunities I had to further my knowledge and have since expanded my skill set into digital.
After earning my undergrad degree I have worked for design studios as a junior, mid-level, and senior designer and since gone on to earn first my MA then MFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
When not in the classroom, grading assignments, or designing I’m either swimming, biking, running, spending time with my family, or unfortunately, doing housework (and probably studying my football lineup).
Have a design problem? Let’s solve it together.
